VISUALS + BODY LANGUAGE PRESENTATION:

We prepared a presentation to show both actresses in our music video as neither of them had heard of Bjork beforehand so we wanted to use images and video to better get across our desired look (as we largely relied on the actors to do their own make up with our direction) and body language before we filmed. This was especially important as we had limited time to film.

BACKGROUNDS:

Candy Forest:

We were inspired by this video (video done by Apple to demonstrate their new iPhone 13) to incorporate a candy forest in our music video as we found it was very visually striking and fit with the overall imagery associated with our chosen artist (Bjork) and fit quite well into the genre, that being electro pop (this is mainly due to the large variety in colors).

unfortunately due to the fact that the previous forest was made of some organic materials, after a day the set was no longer usable. So instead we contacted our friend Eduardo who is proficient with the 3d animation and modeling software blender to see if it would be possible to create a 3d forest. We then created one with him.

In the final cut we decided to include some changing text like in a video we looked at for Anna by MAD FOX.

COSTUMES:

Fairy Costume:

Originally we had commissioned an art student to create a costume for the performance shoot however due to poor direction on our part we weren't able to use the costume as it wasnt colorful enough and would not lead to an accurate simulacrum of Bjorks brand.

Performance Costumes:

we tried on a variety of costumes to see if they would fit (our logic being if they didnt fit on me they wouldn't fit on Sophie) and to get a better sense of weather or not they connoted Bjork.

SAMPLE NARRATIVE VIDEO:

We did a sample video to help us and the actress better understand the narrative on the day of the final shoot. This shoot also served as a rehearsal for the actress Laura and helped us understand what the challenges would be filming with greenscreen and allowed us to plan how we can best overcome them. You can see a presentation I did containing what we thought we could have done better.
